Maca is a root that has many health benefits. It is a rich source of 20 different nutrients. It is known to boost mood and energy levels, balance hormones, nourish adrenal glands, support the liver, and much more. I gave up having coffee at home awhile ago, but still find that I need a pick-me-up in the mornings and I’m not usually in the mood for matcha, so instead, I turn to maca powder! In this recipe, I also use manuka honey as a sweetener, which is natural, has antibiotic properties, a low glycemic index compared to other sweeteners, and prebiotic properties good for healthy digestion.
Ingredients:
1.5 cups non-dairy milk
1-2 tsp Maca powder *
Cinnamon (I eyeball the amount I like)
Manuka honey to taste (approx. 1/2 Tbsp)
Optional add-ins:
Ashwagandha or other adaptogens
Directions:
Heat and stir all together on stove, then serve it up in your favorite mug!
*Note: Some people tolerate maca powder differently than others. Start with a smaller amount and find what works best for your body!
